A “rare talent”, a “great technical mastery” and “above all a deep and remarkable musical personality”, says Dora Schwarzberg about the young violinist Louise Chisson, who over the years has become an original and multifaceted artist and her outstanding Demonstrates skills in the classical and romantic repertoire as well as in modern and contemporary music.

Louise Chisson was on stage from a very early age and played with the following orchestras, among others: Solistes Moscou-Montpellier, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, l'Orchestre d'Auvergne, l'Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse , the Salzburg Chamber Philharmonic, the Prague Philharmonic, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists and the German Chamber Academy. She has also been invited to participate in numerous festivals and works with renowned violinists such as Isaac Stern, Maya Glesarova, Tedi Papavrami, Gilles Apap, Augustin Dumay, Ana Chumachenco and Wolfgang Marschner.

First prize, all categories, of the Concours International des Jeunes Interprétes Lille-Wattrelos, then she is winner of the Alfredo Zanella Violin Competition in Bologna, Italy. Shortly thereafter, she won a prize at the Henryk Szeryng Competition in Mexico and was invited to play the Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2 in a series of concerts with the Mexico State Symphonic Orchestra. Her performances at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Violin Competition attracted attention, as did the Lipizer Competition, where she attracted the attention of the German violinist Wolfgang Marschner, who invited her to perform in Freiburg. She stands out for her bold decisions and great technical skills in solo performances of the integral of the 24 Caprices by Paganini, the sonatas of Ysaye, Bach and Prokofiev.

The special affection she has for the great sonatas, as well as her constant desire to enrich her repertoire, lead her to attach particular importance to the works of the 20th century (Bartok, Prokofiev, Szymanowski…). The selection of their programs and the quality of their interpretations continue to delight audiences. She plays recitals with great French pianists, notably Jean-Philippe Collard, Eric Ferrand N'Kaoua…

She has been working and performing as a duo with Georgian pianist Tamara Atschba since 2008 and in 2013 became first violin of Ensemble Lux, a string quartet dedicated to the modern and contemporary repertoire.

Louise Chisson, born in Bordeaux, began playing the violin at the age of three with Robert Papavrami, the father of the violinist Tedi Papavrami, and studied with him until the age of seventeen. “During my long teaching career, I have met very few violinists who showed such great love for the violin right from the start. Today she is a violinist who understands the high demands of her profession and has a natural musicality, a unique sensitivity and fine imagination that has never stopped growing over the years.” (R. Papavrami). She was noticed by Isaac Stern at the age of eight and three years later Tibor Varga said he was “very impressed by the certain gift she showed for the violin”. At the age of 17, she entered the class of the great violinist Dora Schwarzberg, a student of the world-famous Russian teacher Yuri Yankelevich, with whom she worked for several years, as well as with her assistant Anna Kandinsky, at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she received her degree received a master's degree.

Her first CD, dedicated to Janacek, Prokofiev and Poulenc, was released in 2013 on the Austrian label Gramola and was rated as one of the 10 best recordings of the year by Artistxite.com, followed in 2014 by another recording, “1914”, consisting of works by C. Koechlin and L. Vierne.

Since September 2015, Louise Chisson has been teaching at the Prayner Conservatory in Vienna, and from 2020 at the Franz Schubert Conservatory. In 2016, she founded the Esperus Art Fund with Tamara Atschba to support exceptional young talents, as well as the Esperus Music Academy in collaboration with the renowned summer festival L'Eté Musical in Bergerac. The duo has been working and performing regularly with cellist Gary Hoffman since 2019. In 2019, another project was also brought to life, a concert with narrator, dedicated to Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms and performed with the Austrian actress Katharina Stemberger.

In January 2020, Louise Chisson and Tamara Atschba opened their new concert cycle in the Ehrbarsaal in Vienna, the Esperus Concerts. That same year, they signed a contract with the Hänssler Klassik label, planning to release their new recording in 2021. As part of their cycle, they will perform with great success with cellist Ophélie Gaillard in October 2020.

Her new album entitled "20th Century Feminine" will be released in June 2021. Critically acclaimed, the new recording dedicated to female composers received numerous awards such as Star of the Month in Fono Forum magazine in July 2021, the album of Week on BBC Radio in August 2021, the Diapason d'or in January 2022 as well as nominations for the longlist of the Grammy Awards 2022, the best list of the German Record Critics' Prize 2021 and the OPUS KLASSIK.
